The Welcome Reception officially kicked off the conference at 6:15 pm on September 8. Attendees received their badge and welcome kit upon arrival and check in at the registration counter. The registration desk opened on September 8 at 12:00 pm. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres was provided starting at 6:15 pm.

Yokogawa welcomed its users, partners and guests to the TABLE on Post Oak restaurant the evening of Tuesday, September 9 from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm. TABLE’s menu is described as seasonal American with bold flavors and contemporary in style. This hospitality event was one of Yokogawa's ways to show its appreciation within its automation community. It provides one of the valued activities at the Users Conference and Exhibition- that of networking, whereby users can discuss topics of interest with other users, Yokogawa subject matter experts, and related partners and suppliers within the Yokogawa community.
Food, drinks and entertainment by the band FM Radio provided the backdrop for discussions and just plain fun! The Trio performed a host of classic and 2nd generation classic rock, pop and folk..
Buses provided transportation starting at 6:15 pm on the first floor of the Royal Sonesta Hotel at the front of the hotel.

This event was held inside the exhibition area in the Royal Sonesta Hotel and gave everyone a chance to explore the displayed solutions in more depth.
The bar waso pen and the hors d’oeuvres were laid out to facilitate discussions. Attendees networked and spoke with specific subject matter experts on technology, product or solution topics. Yokogawa partners and suppliers also had areas to talk about specific solutions that are used to augment Yokogawa product offerings. Though the exhibition area was open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the Drinks, Discussions, and Demos session provided a more relaxed time for meeting with those experts to discuss challenges on a variety of topics.

As part of their separate registration, guests were invited to participate in some exciting events. Houston City Tour Tuesday, September 9, 2014 | Start Time- 9:00 am Houston's most symbolic sites and attractions were available on a double-decker bus tour. The historic, museum, and theater districts along with the Sam Houston Monument at Herman Park were explored. This was a "jump-on-jump-off" tour, which allowed time to exit the bus and see some of the sites on foot, grab lunch, then return to the bus to complete the tour. There was lots to see, so walking shoes was the order of the day! Origami Making/Shopping Wednesday, September 10, 2014 | Start Time- 10:15 am Learning the Art of Origami Did you know Origami is the Japanese word for paper folding? ORI means to fold and KAMI means paper. Together it forms the word Origami. A great time was had hearing more about the history of origami and creating some art of our own. After a fun-filled morning of origami making, guests were provided lunch.
